Sapna NYC has received a new grant from CAPACD to nurture our childcare worker cooperative. The generous grant of $7500 will be accompanied by a technical assistance grant. Sapna will work with Prayag Khandhar, an expert on Workers’ Cooperatives, to support the business development of Ideal Childcare. Our Coop is already partly supported by a generous grant from NYC’s Small Business Services.
Cooperatives are businesses that are equally owned and controlled by all members of the group. They have been shown to be more resilient to economic ups and downs, and all decisions are made through democratic processes with each group member, making them a more inclusive business model.
