Sapna NYC’s Advocacy Program
Part of our Mission is to help our members develop a ‘collective voice for change.’ Sapna NYC woks with advocacy organizations including CACF, SAALT, and NYIC Urban Justice Center and the Asian American Foundation. Our members have been a proud part of recent social and policy changes in the city—advocating for communities of color for lots of important causes. We developed a Parent Advocacy Group in 2015 that helped make translation and communication in local schools a social justice issue, bringing about important changes in the system (PIC).
We work with an Action Group at Sapna NYC to help determine social justice issues and other community needs. Our Action Group, CLAP (picture) conducts surveys, provides education, and reports to our Board of Directors.
